 ALTO HITS FUEL ECONOMY FOR A SIX!!!
Last week, our PR Guru (John Daffy) & Service Manager (Mike Turner) put the Alto to the ultimate test – Brisbane to Sydney on one tank of fuel. Held up as a recognisable and tangible measure, it is recalled that this was done on a 35 Litre tank.
Likewise, our test dummies (in the nicest possible way) aren’t diminutive lightweights -
ALTO HITS FUEL ECONOMY FOR SIX Challenge:
Brisbane to Sydney on one tank of fuel
Distance: 920km
Alto fuel tank size: 35 litres
Fuel used: 34.47 litres
Economy: 3.74 litres per 100km or 75.23 mpg
Fuel price on refill : $1.36 centre per litre
Fuel cost Brisbane to Sydney: $47.05
Sydney to Brisbane on less than $50. Barely enough to cover a normal cab fare around town, let alone traverse a large chunk of the east coast of Australia. Break that down further, and that’s just over 5 Cents a KM.
Even more impressive when you remember that it is not a converted Rickshaw or a futuristic science experiment, but a stylish five door vehicle, decked out with the mod cons and has 6 airbags as standard.
